Outside Screening in Florence

Music video “Won't It Be!” is shown outside at the First Fridays in Florence art fair.

Because the monthly First Friday’s in Florence art fair fell on the same weekend as the film festival organizers arranged to show some of the submissions outside on a giant screen in downtown Florence during the event. The films chosen for this screening had some connection with North Alabama or UNA for the most part.

The film being shown in the photo above is music video “Won't It Be!” directed by Huntsville resident and UNA graduate Jim Torres. Tevarous Black, also of Huntsville, produced the film and it won the first place award for Professional Music Video. Another film with local ties that was shown is the professional short narrative “Detour”. This film features professional actor, Florence native and UNA alumnus Tim Powell.
