Theatre: "Pageant"..."Boy Gets Girl"...The Vagina Monologues

Zodiac Theatre Presents "Pageant"

Theatre fans in the Shoals will have plenty to choose from during the month of February. Alan Flowers directs a production of Pageant that opens on February 1st and runs through the 5th at the Zodiac Theatre. This rowdy musical comedy has delighted audiences across the country and it’s sure to be a sell out in the Shoals. I was able to sneak in to a recent rehearsal and I was rolling in the isles. Can’t wait to see the full show. Consult the web site for curtain times and directions to the theatre.

The UNA production of Boy Gets Girl opens the first weekend in February. This show, written by Alabama playwright, Rebecca Gilman deals with far more serious subject of stalking. This will be the 5th production directed by UNA alum Scott Long. Performances start at 7:30 and will take place in Norton Auditorium on the UNA campus.

The Random Acts of Theatre troupe will perform The Vagina Monologues for Vday on February 17th and 18th. The proceeds will benefit rape response. The performance will take place at the Ritz Theatre, 103 West Third Street, Sheffield. Performances start at 7:30pm and tickets are $10.00 for adults. Call (256) 483-1658 for additional information.
