African Art...Woodblock Prints...Reflections...Exhibits...

African Art Exhibit at Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts

The African Art show at the Kennedy-Douglass Center and the Hiroshigi, Kabuki, Toulouse-Lautrec: woodblock prints show at the Tennessee Valley Art Center both continue in February.

UNA will also host a couple of interesting exhibits during the month of February. The photography exhibit by Ronald Watkins entitled Reflections runs through March 3rd.

The photography of Muscle Shoals native, Nick Nichols and his wife Reba Peck’s paintings will be on display in an exhibit that explores the relationships between humans and animals. Nichols is a staff photographer for National Geographic magazine and Peck has exhibited in a number of noteworthy galleries across the US. The shows are titled respectively Brutal Kinship and Cosmic Chimps.

On February 17th a show featuring the drawings and paintings of Tennessee artist Nick Long opens at the Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts. Long’s work has been featured in a number of important national and international juried exhibitions/ competitions, and won several awards.
