Tips for Week of March 29, 2007
- The Huntsville Botanical Garden is having a Grand Opening of their new Trillium Garden at 1 pm on April 1st. In addition to the formal trillium collection plantings, there are also plantings of trilliums as you would find them in their natural habitat, complete with companion plants. This is the largest collection of trilliums in the United States, with 25 of the 30 Eastern species and 3 of the 8 Western species. You'll also find one endangered species. (
- Gibson's BBQ is offering a free piece of pie with each entree during the month of April, on Mondays and Tuesdays.
- If you adopted your pet from a PetSmart Adoption Charities Agency , enter their Adoption Story Contest , by April 8th, and you & your pet might win some big prizes.
- The Huntsville Museum of Art will be offering a $1 admission during Panoply weekend, beginning Friday, April 27, at 5 pm and running through Sunday, April 29, at 5 pm. Regular admission fees to the Museum will resume Monday, April 30, at 10 am.
- I just heard that Wendy's will be offering a breakfast menu in a couple months.
- If the new FOX TV show "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader ?"has you hooked and is making you feel really stupid, then you might want to brush up on your language skills by checking out Grammar Girl's Quick & Dirty Tips To Clean Up Your Writing .
- One pastor in Kansas City took his sermon on establishing a Complaint-Free World one step further and gave his congregation purple bracelets to wear on their wrist for 21 days (a habit). When you find yourself complaining, you have to switch the bracelet to the other wrist and start over. The church gives these bracelets away free, if you're up for the challenge.
