Tips for Week of May 4, 2006
- Rave Motion Picturesis offering an introductory price on all movies showings at all times until further notice for $6. The Grand Opening is Friday, May 5th.
- I found this great educational site while surfing the net. It's from The Solar Physics Group at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center. It was formed in the early 1970's in conjunction with the Apollo Skylab Mission. These pages contain an overview of solar physics itself along with highlights of their own work, current projects, and possible future missions.
- If you start off your Saturdays wanting something special to eat, then you might want to check out Friends of Ferals Benefit Breakfast at Applebee's South Parkway (south of Drake) Saturday, May 20 7:00 am 9:30 am. There will be a bountiful and delicious breakfast of pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and coffee or juice will be served for the low price of $5.00 each. You can get tickets from chele.hinds@us.army.mil Friends of Ferals members or at the door.
- This weekend is National Pet Adoptions. You're invited to an Open House at Huntsville Animal Services on Triana Blvd. and The Greater Huntsville Humane Society a few blocks away on Johnson St. Both PetSmarts will also have animals available for adoption and Petco on Airport Road. If you've been thinking about a new furry friend, be sure to stop by and take advantage of these fun events and opportunities to see a lot of animals.
- How about this for motivation to stay on your diet: A German hotel has started calculating fees according to the weight of the guest. The three-star Ostfriesland hotel in the north German town of Norden charges the equivalent of 34p per kilogram. Owner Juergen Heckroth said: "Slim guests live longer and can therefore come more often and that is why we reward them."
- Did you know that you can go on the About Huntsville home page and leave your own comments on restaurants, movies, concerts, plays, events or any article? It's easy (just click on "comments") and no need to register or use your last name.
