- Ladies 35 and older, are you ready for a free "Yoga & Relaxation Day"? Huntsville's Pine Cone, Inc. is offering a one-day retreat featuring yoga, creative arts, healing methods, massages and breast health education with two sessions to choose from on Saturday, June 16 . The event is supported by a grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure . To make a reservation or for more information, call (256) 489-9823.
- The annual list of Top 10 Attractions in Alabama for 2006 is compiled by Alabama Bureau of Tourism & Travel from attendance figures submitted by attractions throughout the state. The US Space & Rocket Center , Huntsville Botanical Garden , Huntsville Stars and Big Spring Jam all made one of the lists.
- Parenting is tough! Now there's help: The new Parenting Assistance Line (PAL) is a collaborative service of the University of Alabama Child Development Resources and the Alabama Children's Trust Fund . When callers call the toll-free number, 1-866-962-3030, a parenting resource specialist will answer. Callers can also request free literature about their specific parenting concerns.
- Coming soon to Unclaimed Baggage Center : a new Bookstore & Museum, a beautiful 1896 Southern home located on the UBC Campus stocked with their entire book and art departments, collectibles & more! Also, Tuesdays are now designated as the day they put new stock and arri! vals out . Remember, they are closed on Sundays.
- Across the country at 3 p.m. on Memorial Day trains will blow their whistles and Major League Baseball will stop to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice as part of the united effort to stress the true meaning of Memorial Day. Huntsville is participating in the national campaign Moment of Remembrance .
- The Huntsville-shot movie, " Constellation " is now out on DVD. If you missed it in the theatres, now you can buy or rent it.
- A friend told me about Cartridge World on Airport Road, next to Regions Bank. Cartridge World is providing consumers with an alternative to reduce the impact of millions of cartridges that are thrown away and that end up in landfills each year.
