Tips for Week of June 14, 2007
- Twice Upon A Time , an upscale children's consignment boutique, located next to Ravissant and across Highway 431 from Interior MarketPlace, will be having their grand opening Saturday, June 16, 2007. They also feature new gift items from makers such as Stephen Joseph and Melissa & Doug for the pampered mom and child.
- Good news for BBQ lovers: Ole Hickory BBQ is opening a second location, starting Monday, June 18th at 2614 NW Memorial Parkway. Hours are 11-8 Monday-Thursday and 11-9 Friday & Saturday. My favorite is their enormous "stuffed potato" topped with barbecue and all the fixins! For more info, call (256) 852-6999.
- Hopefully, the rain is coming...sometime soon. In the meantime, The US Drought Monitor has upgraded the intensity of north Alabama's drought to "exceptional," making Alabama the only state designated at the worst level. Start your rain dance!
- Remember the "penny postcard"? What did Huntsville look like when postcards cost 1¢ to mail? Here's a look at some cards from Madison County during that era.
- The Twickenham Doll Club has a new date & location for their annual Doll Show and Sale . Instead of June, the event has moved to Saturday August 18th, 2007 from 10 am until 4 pm at the Historic Huntsville Depot Roundhouse . For more information, call (256) 881-3046.
