Tips for Week of June 21, 2007
- A little bit of Huntsville is dying...at the end of July, Shaver's Bookstore on Whitesburg Drive is closing its door. This is as sad as when Aunt Eunice's Country Kitchen closed. I rate this unique, little bookstore that carries all the local & regional authors' books, a rare treasure and a great loss. Be sure and stop by and see John Shaver before "the end" and take advantage of some of his great discounts.
- The 15th annual Alabama Kindergarten Conference is going to be held July 20-21 at Providence K-8 School. It is open to preschool teachers, home school parents, nursery school teachers, early childhood teachers, private school and any one including parents that are interested in early childhood education.
- The Red Hot Treasures store in Madison has closed, but Janice shows her red hat club specialty items privately by appointment. Call her at (256) 830-4905 or (256) 653-2722.
- If you love to sew (I don't!), you might want to check out SewingCircles.com located on Acadia Circle. They offer heirloom, quilting, basic sewing, and advanced sewing techniques throughout the year.
- Congratulations to Joy McKee of Operation Green Team , who has been nominated for the Energizer Bunny Hall of Fame , the only nominee from Alabama for this year. Jo! y needs your votes to win...vote once each day from now until August 1st. (6) Homer Hickam will honor members of The Honor Flight at his kick off book signing for The Far Reaches , Friday, June 22nd from 6-7 p.m. at Barnes & Noble, Jones Valley.
