Tips for Week of June 22, 2006
- Our boy, Bo Bice , last year's runner-up on "American Idol," has signed on to perform at this year's Big Spring Jam . Watch out for the Bice Squad to invade Huntsville!
- Eighteen-year old, Joy Spears, of Killen, Alabama is dancing up a storm on the current seaon of " So You Think You Can Dance "--be sure to support this North Alabama native.
- The new Huntsville radio station, The River on 100.3 FM, is doing some fun stuff on Wednesdays at noon. Last week it was a free movie at RAVE , now it's free lunch until school starts on Wednesdays.
- Alabama has set a new record: It has been named "State of the Year" by Southern Business and Development magazine for the fourth year in a row. The journal covers the economic development activities of 17 southern and border states, and bases the award each year on the number of new job announcements in each state.
- There's a charming new bakery/deli in Ardmore (on the Tennessee side) on 26649 Elk Street called The Old Mill ...it's in, well...a mill. You can order in and sit next to a muraled wall or on the front porch and watch people in Alabama pass by while you enjoy some great BlueGrass music. They take groups. - The Alabama Bureau of Travel and Tourism has the " 2006, Year of Outdoor Alabama " photography exhibit on display now at the Huntsville Botanical Garden through July 5th.
- I got a tip from someone that there's a new restaurant I need to try out on Pratt Ave. called Dallas Mills Deli . If you've been there, let me know. I hear they have outstanding sandwiches.
