Tips for Week of June 28, 2007

  • The Huntsville International Airport has free WiFi ...Chicago's O'Hare does not. Just one more thing I like about Huntsville.
  • Another part of Huntsville's history bites the dust: According to The Huntsville Times , Aunt Eunice's Country Kitchen is being torn down to make run for a Dollar store, of all things.
  • According to Pauli's Bar & Grill newsletter, they've just received a shipment of "Royal Reds, " a deep water shrimp that tastes very much like lobster. If you want to try them, you'd better hurry--they won't last long. Pauli's also has a new birthday campaign and he says, "Hey I'll give you more on your Birthday than your second cousin will for your Birthday I bet." For more info, call (256) 722-2080.
  • According to About Guide to Frugal Living , Erin Huffstetler, AT&T is now offering DSL service for $10 a month.
  • Gov. Bob Riley has declared the first weekend in August (Aug. 3-5) as the tax-free holiday for state sales and use taxes on items related to back-to-school shopping. Huntsville, Madison County and City of Madison have also agreed to lift local sales taxes that weekend.
  • Dog Lovers, you need to get signed up for The Pet Communications class , which teaches you how to effectively communicate with your dogs using body language and tone of voice, as well as how to read your dog's body language to know what they are going to do before they do it. The class is taught by Dr. David Wilson, a certified master service dog trainer with an extensive background in dog behavior and has trained dogs for home protection, cadaver search, search & rescue and explosives/drug detection and is a fundraiser for forevergreyhounds@yahoo.com The Greyhound Group .
