Tips for Week of July 6, 2006

  • Did you know that there are over 20 restaurants in downtown Huntsville? I found that hard to believe, too, when I had lunch recently at The Furniture Factory with owner Donna Hays. So, next time you want to go out--think " Downtown "!
  • Speaking of Downtown: The Sidewalk Art Show was so successful in June, that there are plans to repeat the event on July 27th and August 24th . Artists should contact embark7@comcast.net Donna Castellano at 534-8376 if you'd like to be a vendor.
  • There's a new dress shop that just opened next to The Furniture Factory on Meredian St. called Envy, Inc. . Owner Sharon Winn says the store carries causal and weekend wear, dresses, jeans and shirts for ages 12 to 70. Some of the brands she carries are Matty M, 3J Workshop, Joystick, Kiyonna, Monarchy Jeans, Madbags, English Laundry.
  • Fresh Market started as a small store dedicated to providing quality foods in a friendly atmosphere. They decided to become a neighborhood specialty grocer selling wholesome foods at reasonable prices, in an intimate setting. According to their website, our store is coming to Huntsville soon at 4800 Whitesburg Drive.
  • The new Bridge Street project includes a new experience in movie-going: Monaco Pictures "has been designed to have the quality, ambiance and feel of a luxury hotel with sleek and modern interior design, unique food and concession offerings and plasma screen viewing areas." That means you'll be able to order restauant food and wine while you relax and what first-run feature films in stadium theatres with oversized luxury seating." Why did it take them so long to realize this is what we need?
  • Don't forget: my email crashed and I lost everything...please re-send me your info if I haven't responded or acted upon it.
