Tips for Week of August 10, 2006
Barnes & Noble Inc . has signed a lease agreement to open a new store in Huntsville in the Bridge Street Town Centre that is scheduled to open in May 2007. It will replace the University Dr. store, which will close the day before the opening of the new store.
You may have received an email telling you that your cell phone is about to be assaulted by telemarketing calls as a result of a new cell phone number database; however, that is not the case. Federal Communications Commission regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers .
Tigers For Tomorrow at Untamed Mountain is looking for 2 interns from September thru December 1st . The interns will be required to work 6 days a week from 8am-6pm. The interns will assist in the daily husbandry of preserve residents, assist in interpretive talks, and work with the public, construction of new compound including building enclosures. Did you know that Jimmy Donal "Jimbo" Wales , the founder and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit corporation that operates the Wikipedia project, and several other wiki projects, was born in Huntsville and attended Randolph School? Small world..wide...web.
Speaking of World Wide Web , last Sunday, August 6th, was the 15th birthday of the World Wide Web, because Sir Tim Berners-Lee took the time to officially let other people know about his "little" project in 1991.
As of Monday, August 14th, Callie Allie's in The Village on Whitesburg and European Boutique (formerly located at Main Street South) are joining forces to create a truly wonderful shopping experience through one door. The sign reads 'European Boutique' but both stores are inside. Check it out.
