Tips for Week of August 30, 2007
- Don't Drink & Drive this weekend: Starting at 11:30 p.m. Friday and running through Tuesday Sept. 4th, Huntsville Police DUI Task Force will monitor the intersections of South Memorial Parkway and Martin Road, Jordan Lane and Ninth Avenue, Church Street and Pratt Avenue, Pulaski Pike and Holmes Avenue, North Memorial Parkway and Cox Avenue and University and Sparkman drives.
- Hey, kids ages 6-12 years old, Red Robin restaurant is looking for the next new Gourmet Burger. Create the perfect combination and have your recipe served in all their restaurants plus win a trip for 4 to Universal Studios Hollywood . Deadline is Sept. 16th.
- Cyn Shea's Garden Cafe has closed in Interior Marketplace . No word yet on who will rent the space.
- Speaking of restaurants--there's two new ones coming to the Target Shopping Center on Carl T. Jones. Opening next to Hobby Lobby will be Another Broken Egg "serving exceptionally fresh and nutritional food with over 130 menu items to choose from for your Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch experience" and Mezza Luna . If you know more, let me know.
- Just Kids Stuff is offering space for rent for their Sept. 8th Marketplace from 8 am-12 noon on Main Street, downtown Madison. For more info, call (256) 527-7417.
- About Guide to Frugal Living reports about! ways to save more money at Target , Wal-Mart and Rite-Aid .
- Well, we've done it again--we're #3...but this time it's not a good thing. "Study finds Alabama is 3rd fattest state" according to Trust for America's Health .
- Pauli's Bar & Grill is offering a Wine Dinner with a fabulous menu on Sept. 7 at 8 pm to benefit The American Cancer Society . Cost is $125 per person. You can contact Shannon Magers at (256) 536-1863 for reservations or information.
- Williams-Sonoma is offering a series of fall cooking classes on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30 pm in Sept. & Oct. for $40 per class. For more info, call the store at (256) 534-2008.
