Tips for Week of September 7, 2006
- Andy Kindler from the David Letterman Show is at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center this week experiencing Space Camp for himself (or Dave, I guess). The segment will air on Letterman later this month.
- A $48,000 federal grant will help with the development of the Roots of American Music Trail , which will pass through northwest Alabama and celebrate Muscle Shoals' musical achievements. The trail is a 33-mile portion of the Natchez Trace Parkway from the Alabama-Tennessee state line to the Alabama-Mississippi state line.
- The Clay House Museum is having its third annual Fall Festival of Arts on October 7, on the same day of the Madison Street Festival. All booths inside are $50 and outside $25. For more information, check the website or call (256) 325-1018. Deadline for registration is Sept 15th.
- Are you a Chocoholic? Then you will love the new NestleChocolatier website. Go to the site and sign up to receive a full-size bag of the baking chocolate. Chocolate is chocolate, right?
- What's just as good as chocolate? Ice Cream! Check the Baskin-Robbins website for a $1 off coupon on any of their medium or large Cappuccino Blasts. Offer expires October 31st.
- If you're a TV fanatic like me, you might like to play the nine-week "Fall Season Death Watch 2006" game starting this Friday, Sept. 8 on Brilliant But Cancelled , where you handicap the fall season by casting your vote for the shows you think will either fail, succeed or end up under the label of brilliant but cancelled. Everyone who picks the first show to be canceled in a given week will be entered into a drawing to win a Video iPod.
- Are you watching the new telenovelas on the old WB network? The re-caps are an hour each for Desire and Fashion House on Saturday night beginning at 7. Also as a special kickoff for the My TVnetwork , there will be an Encore Presentation each night for the first 2 weeks on FOX54 beginning at 10 pm Monday through Friday.
- A big welcome back to Huntsville to Leslie Ecklund , who started work this week as the new Executive Director/CEO of Burritt on the Mountain .
