- The Huntsville-Madison County Health Department has moved to 301 Max Luther Drive. There phone number is 256-539-3711.
- Voy TV is finally seeing the light of day--not as a cable network, as originally conceived, but a broadband television channel. The service is showcasing 7,000 videos, consisting of acquired, original and user-generated content. And it will allow users to create video blogs. Check it out.
- Genealogists, listen up: The Huntsville Alabama Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is sponsoring a free half-day Family History Seminar in Huntsville at 1804 Sparkman Drive on November 4, 2006 from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. Visit the website to register or more info.
- Do you know the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer? Lilies of the Valley , an ovarian cancer awareness group, will send you a free bookmark to educate you. Visit their website for details.
- Friday, October 13th, WLRH-FM celebrates 30 years on the air in Huntsville. They were the first public radio station in the state. Their Fall Fundraiser begins Saturday October 14 and runs through Saturday October 21st. Call the station to pledge 895-9574 or drop by during fundraiser for coffee and goodies from Alabama Bread Company, WildFlour Bistro, and others.
- Did you know the American Cancer Society currently funds more than $2 million dollars in cancer research in Alabama? Since 1946 the American Cancer Society has funded over $2 billion dollars in cancer research.
- A snail can sleep for three years.
