Tips for Week of October 19, 2006
- I learned this nifty email computer trick this week: If you hold down the Ctrl key on your key board and turn the small wheel in the middle of your mouse, the print size will change - it will either get larger or smaller - depending on which way you turn the wheel.
- There's a new mailing list on Yahoo Groups for people in Huntsville looking for jobs. Check it out, whether you are looking for work or an employee.
- Rave Movie Theatre is featuring one of less than 200 runs in the country on a re-issue in 3D of " Nightmare Before Xmas" . It is an important experiment to determine if other beloved older films can have this new state of the art technology applied to them, and revitalized as a result. Opens October 20.
- Alabama's infant mortality rate of 9.3 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2005 showed an increase over the rates from the past three years. Dr. Donald Williamson, state health officer , said, "We do not fully understand these very troubling rates. Infant mortality is heading in the wrong direction, and not for reasons we would usually ascribe, such as teen pregnancy. The babies of adult women are dying, and we will explore the reasons and develop ideas to help lower infant deaths."
- Speaking of babies, did you know that babies are born without kneecaps. They don't appear until the child reaches 2 to 6 years of age.
