- United Airlines just announced new nonstop service to Huntsville, Ala., daily from Denver beginning Feb. 14, and twice daily from Washington Dulles beginning April 9.

- Want to stay in touch? Skype is a little program for making free calls over the internet to anyone else who also has Skype. All calls from Skype to landlines and mobiles within the US and Canada are also free until the end of the year.

- As you're thinking about Thanksgiving this month, don't forget our servicemen and women overseas. Let's Say Thanks is a website that let's you send a free printed postcard to show your support and appreciation to the troops. It only takes a minute and would mean so much to someone in the Armed Forces.
- The Bubel/Aiken Foundation (yes, as in Clay Aiken!) and Youth Service America (YSA) are pleased to announce grants of up to $1,000 to support youth-led service projects in which youth with and without disabilities serve their communities together. Projects can address themes such as the ! environment, disaster relief, public health and awareness, community education, hunger, and literacy, and any issues youth identify as a community need. Deadline for application is November 30th.
- Just found out about a different kind of animal rescue here in Huntsville called Parrots-R-4ever Avian Rescue and Sanctuary (PARS). They are a No-Kill rescue shelter and sanctuary providing care, rehabilitation and adoption services for abused, abandoned, or unwanted exotic pet birds. For more information, call (256) 895-0465.
