Tips for Week of May 11, 2006
- Well, Alabama has done it again: Alabama born & bred, Taylor Hicks , is in the final three to win the title of "American Idol." Taylor Hicks heads home to Alabama for the traditional "return home tour" that the top finalists take every year. Helena, Alabama turned out for Bo Bice and Birmingham turned out for Ruben Studdardthe second year of "American Idol." Who Do You Think is Going to Win "American Idol"?
- Restaurant news: Starfishis closed now, but Sazio has been expanded into that space and is specializing in Italian cuisine.
- I recently dined at Pauli's on Highway 72 and Slaughter Road. They are now open for lunch and very reasonable priced. They are always closed on Sunday's, though.
- Niiko's Japanese Restaurant is closed for lunch during the summer, except for Saturdays, when they are open 11 am-2 pm.
- My sweet cat, Samantha, died two months ago today. It was very difficult for me and was like losing a member of my family (which it was). Several people sent notes and cards. Someone sent me the Rainbow Bridge poem and another sent a link for Critters.com where you can create a free memorial to your pet. I'll be doing that as soon as I find the time.
