Pysanky (Ukranian Easter Eggs) Workshops

Yarn Expressions has scheduled 2 more Pysanky workshops during the first week of April, right before Easter. If you've seen these magnificent eggs and wanted to know how they were made, this workshop is for you. For more information about the workshops, visit www.yarnexpressions.com or stop by the shop at 8415 Whitesburg Drive, just south of the South Post Office. Your registration fee includes all tools and materials needed to make at least one egg, the tools are yours to keep, and spaces are limited, so if you're interested, don't delay. You can call the shop (256-881-0260) to check space availability and make payment arrangements. While we do not currently have materials available for large groups, if you have a group that would like to schedule a private class after Easter, we will be happy to accomodate your needs. We need at least 3 weeks notice and prepayment for supplies to schedule an outside group. The delay is due to the limited supply of tools available at this time of year

SEUSSICAL, the Musical

The Grissom Fine Arts Department presents the magical musical SEUSSICAL April 7-10 at 7:30 PM and April 11 at 2:00 PM in the Grissom auditorium. SEUSSICAL brings to life all our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, and Jojo, a little boy with a big imagination. The colorful Seuss characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. Horton must protect his tiny friend Jojo from a world of dangers, and he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant, in a story that makes you laugh and cry. For more information about SEUSSICAL you may dial 539-1534.
